Feel good hits of the summer

Just a post summarizing the big hits of summer 09.

By the combined force of A-Trak & Armand van Helden, which equals to Duck Sauce. Even if this one is still waiting to be released in a vinyl format, it's already huge. I've heard it played in so many dj sets around here. Disco sample muscled and sped up for the dance floor is such a winning recipe.

The other big disco song has been this Eli Escobar remix of an old Stevie Nicks classic. Check the video here. Such a meaningful tune with emotional singing performance by Nicks. Stands out real good from the usual disco lyrics, which are pretty upbeat but a bit tacky.

The last one is an old one that has been dug up this summer, first by Swedish dj's, then a few tastemaking Helsinki dj's and later by everybody else. It's Magnus Uggla's Sommertid.

By the way, all of the above have been spotted from blogs/forums a good while back. It's the internet-age, baby.
