Next Saturday the Rhytm Egg will be the LAW

Next Saturday we'll be playing in the upstairs of Dynamo with none other than Herman Prime of Plauge that is one the central movers in Tampere Nightlife. Our honored quest has played for years and in places like Flow Festival and Pori Jazz, so we're more than anxious to hear him spin.

Come early and reserve your places in FB.

Here's Herman Prime's top 10:

Paul Simon - Late In The Evening
Kenlou - Hillbilly Song
TeeRoy Morris - I Heard It Through The Grapevine
Redbone - The Witch Queen Of New Orleans
Fleshtones - Hall Of Fame
Panic - Move Your Body
Rip Rig + Panic - You're My Kind Of Climate
The Tom Tom Club - Elephant
Funkapolitan - Run Run Run
Candido - Dancin' & Prancin'

I'll drop somewhere a list of hot records I might play, too. See ya come Saturday.

Next Saturday: Diskotusneuvottelut + loads of shoutouts!

Man, how amazing was last Friday? I've never had so much positive feedback as I got from Diskoluistel-U. Just random people, joggers and such, came up and said we should do it every Friday. It's a surprising reaction to people just putting up a soundsystem next to a roller skate park and blasting away pretty rare-ish disco, house and chiptune.

I just wanna say I'm very happy that we did it, now I can cross that off my personal "to do list for life".

Here's one photo of the event. Check the FB page or here for more good photos of happy people. We even got on the news:

This week we have something good for store also. We are going back to Dynamo upstairs after a long while. No guests, just me and Ripatti going deep with our selections. We've dubbed the night as Diskotusneuvottelut, after the political farce we are just going through. FB is also up and top 10's from both of us are coming up soon. I think we'll lean on our disco records and spice it up with newer favorites.

If you'd rather listen to best house available on Saturday, I heartily recommend Sheikki Sheikki's party. The boys have an anniversary coming up and they have done an excellent job with their club for three years.

And if rap selection is you thing, go ahead to So Damn Tuff Open mic. Very recommended. They have become quickly one of the best rap clubs around.

At least three excellent clubs on one night, that's Turku nightlife nowadays.

And also big thanks for Heikki Sillanpää aka DKSTR for updating our old discus thrower logo to space age. It's soooo cooooll :D

Ps. Here's a new house remix of a Classixx track for everyone who read all the way here. 320, so it's ready to go.

Quick tip for the Turku people

Recommended for tonight in Turku:

Sheikki Sheikki have Uusi Fantasia at Klubi. One of the most interesting dance music collectives are on their way to drop a new album, so they have come here to test it out.

We visited the good Sheikki Sheikki folk last month at it was an amazing night. Then we did it with just a bunch of dj's so tonight should top that proper.

Check their myspace.

Check the event's facebook.

Over & Over at Pikku-Torre. Dj Ionik of Traveller Records and his mates spin some good disco, house and italo in the cozy Pikku-Torre. I might drop by there before Sheikki Sheikki.

Check the facebook.

There some good disco action at Kirjakahvila, too. We had a Queer studies seminar here in Turku and they are hosting a ball tonight. Check that one out here.

Don't forget to take a listen to my latest mix, too. Located just below this post.

This one is mostly for our Turku-heads. We are happy to announce we are rocking the decks next Saturday @ Dynamo upstairs. Here is the flyer. If someone wants to get the contact for our AD-department, hit me at comments ;)

Here's the FB-event for you who want to network with other people who are a part of DWTF-fam.

See you there. I'll post a top 5/top 10 of my fave songs to get the appetites wet. All the best.

Just a reminder about tomorrow

It's been a busy week with courses starting and some freelance work to deal with, so I'm real happy to welcome the weekend. I really can't wait to spin some disco 4 all the people @ Klubi tomorrow. It should be good.

Here's a few definite picks.

"I just wait to Saturday".

Now tell me: does this the last one feel more like a sad song or more like a party song? I can't make up my mind.

Sumthing for Saturday

All week, no posts - sorry for that. I just got a new laptop in exchange for the one that crashed completely two months. It means I can finally do all the computer stuff without too much a hustle.

One of the first things I wanted to do was a Disko WTF?!-playlist for Spotify. So, for your casual listening pleasure, here's some 50 tunes I picked as my current favorites:

DISKO WTF?!-PLAYLIST

I try to keep it up to date with all the new discoveries we find on Spotify. Of course, I'll be posting a lot of quality songs here as well.

Jumping on subjects: Tonight's gonna be the last time the very talented Powerpoint Boys are having a club in Turku, at least for a while. It's happening from 22 onwards in Blanko. If you don't know who the Powerpoint Boys are, you should definately check out tonight and their blog. Some of my fondest clubbing memories are from their impeccable sets, so don't miss out - mixmasters Antti and Juuso definately got their shit together.

Here's the poster. You can bring your own Powerpoint presentation there as well. C U all around.
