Shameless act of self promotion

I did a little article on vinyl collectors. It seems to have gotten a good reception, so I thought I'd link it here too. It focuses on Soul Seed's - probably the most respected club around Turku - dj Piitu Lintunen, so it might interest you if you're a soul digger.

Read it in Finnish here.

Have a good weekend, there's at least Nakit & Muushit and Rytmikoppi nights going on,

Tom Moulton- time

Me and Ripatti have our hands full on getting some gigs this spring. So far it's looking like pretty good, I think we are headed to the situation we want to be in.

We'll update all gig info on our Facebook-site. And I'll put them up here, too.

Jumpin' on subjects, here's some dope interviews with the guy who invented the 12 inch format we dj's love today and remixed a big bunch of my favorite tunes:

Interview 2
Interview 3

Knock yourself out and get educated. Big shout outs to the journalists behind those, they are done mostly for passion since journalism on dj culture is NOT the most lucrative of fields of knowledge...

And yeah, here's a one been feeling from Tom.

All the best for y'all.

Down with Bobby O

I saw this one on the Powerpoint Boys blog: It's a good article on Bobby Orlando, the guy behind Flirts, much of Divine's hits and partly behind Pet Shop Boys' West End Girls.

Here's the article. It's a good read, dude wasn't just ordinary hit producer but quite a character too.

I remember Akahiljane used to play this one out a year ago. It's quite perfectly suited for the dance floor with that building feel and fitting lyrics. And it's true!

Dam-Funk Megapost

I said a few days back that I would supply everyone with a neat link package to get easily acquinted with Dam-Funk. So here's a link-filled post with a list of good Dam-Funk interviews/articles I know. It's an update from a previous set I posted on dj Ionik's FB-group. Support good music, support good music journalism.

Nothing's real in L.A. (english version) from laszlo colombani on Vimeo.

Check out also issue 64 of Fader, L.A. Record has also a story. If someone has more D-F stuff we should know about, feel free to post on comments. Will be very much appreciated.

Joining Dam-Funk as a fan on Facebook is recommended, he posts frequently about new songs, gigs and influences. I'll leave you with this, a video of the artist jamming. That's how the magic happens...

Doing a Megapost on Daniel Wang is also on the agenda. I actually heard Todd Terje is also coming to Finland, and I've been digging material on him also. Maybe I'll do a post in his honor, too!
