The best of year 2010

OH, it's almost time for happy new year.

But it's still a few days left in this year, so it's time to do some Best of lists. We already started with a Top 50 songs found in Spotify and updated that last Thursday. You can check in, listen and like if you want to HERE.

There will be more Top lists of this year later on, so check in here later on as well. We both did a list for our regular spot Dynamo, so at least those will be out sooner or later.


We are also featuring in next Saturdays Nakit ja Muusit -night @ Cup Pint. Nakit ja Muushit is a night run by Sheikki Sheikki-Hrrri and dj Seoul who is a talented dj. Last time we played with them two was in summer, and I can guarantee they've got good taste in disco, house and boogie new and old.

We've got a lot of stuff lined up for the new year, but haven't sorted them out yet. Anyways, hope you all had a good Xmas and will have a good New Year's Ball.

BTW, here's something for the holidays. I can't believe I hadn't bumped it earlier, but you can find The Rub's massive mix series about hip hop history here. They go year by year, exposing the most essential rap songs of each year in a nice mix. It's an amazing goldmine of history, good rhymes and definite beats - and a great listen. I kinda feel like taking a few select ones (early 90's perhaps) to bump on my mp3-player while I chill after all the Xmas foods and delicacies.

100 blog posts !!!

Yeah, time to pop bottles and celebrate for the one hundred milestone.

Lemme wax poetic for a minute to sum up this year: All in all, it's been a dope, but hard year for us. We kinda went for the jugular when we kick started this dj collective. Some of you may know we booked the whole club thing before we had ever played together. So the first months just went with learning a whole lot about each other and learning how to rock the decks. Akahiljane put it way back then in these mots justes "It's like group sex, first little awkward and embarrassing, but great fun too". We got mad internet hype in the first months, which might not have been that good an idea. We have a saying here in Finland about climbing to a three ass first... Anyways, for a few months now I've been feeling our sets coming together with much more confidence and definitely feeling that we are able to give something back to the dancing crowd (of course, for all the internet folks too). In the last few months we've been upping our edit game, and new mixes are on the way. I finally have got the time and possibilites to do some half-ass mixes, so watch out for those.

Christmas goofiness

Massive apologies for the downtime. I had to work for 10 days - real work, putting stickers to butter - and it drained all the juice out of me.

So, suddenly it's Xmas time. Here's a few nice takes on the most played Christmas song, probably ever.
